Divine Revelation

My wife and I were both saved and baptized in the local church. Before I immigrated to the United States, I attended Christian elementary and junior high schools in Hong Kong. I was required to study the Bible. However, I neither believed what the Bible said nor that God existed. I thought the Bible was a book of ethics, which even fell short when compared to the teachings of Confucius. After I received God's life, I started to know the Bible as a book of life through calling on the Lord, praying, reading the Bible, and meeting. This book reveals Jesus Christ, who is both God, yet man. A brother gave me a Recovery version of the New Testament when I came to my first meeting. This translation with footnotes and outlines helped me to know the basic truth in the Bible. Through all kinds of meetings and trainings, I gradually have seen that God has an eternal purpose, His plan for man to receive His life and nature. He wants to be one with man and be expressed through man.

This vision has had a great impact on my life. Once, in a message by Witness Lee in the Life-study of Samuel, he asked us to sing a hymn “I need Jesus.” I got the Lord's enlightenment when I heard this message. I found that I really lacked Christ. Before this I had been in the local church for several years, attended every meeting, and helped with some practical service. I knew in doctrine that God wanted us to build up the Church, the Body of Christ (Ephesians 4:12, 16). However, I found out right there that I cannot build God's building by my own effort. I need Christ to make His home in my heart (Ephesians 3:17). The problems I had in the local church and my family life came from my lack of Christ. I needed Jesus. Seeing this is a great salvation to me.

From now to eternity, I can testify that God used Witness Lee's ministry to perfect me in truth and life. Only God is able to know the amount of contribution he has had in my Christian life.
